Kuruption (Interview)

Scotland Standup get talking to one of the new Deadlife members Kuruption about his upcoming projects and views on Hiphop in Scotland How long have you been making music?
I have been making music from around the 2010 mark, however it was watered down fake american accent stuff, I only started using my normal accent in the September 2011, so thats what I consider the start of my Career.

How many songs /albums have you released to date? 1 Album Called Brain Dead, which was taken down because vibedeck decided they wanted my money, and an EP with Arrogant(Allan Carey) which also was took down, so around 40 odd songs
Can you tell us about your new project and the background and inspirations behind it? My new project is actually early in development, currently in the early writing stage, im planning to name it "Brain Dead II: The Kuruptor" or some cheesy shit along the lines of that, the inspirations behind it are sort of like, looking at the the rest of the competition in the "Industry" and trying to outdo them and outcompete them, treating it like a battle in order to boost my own skills.
How have you ended up in the music industry? The same as most other rappers my age, listening to eminem and hoping to be like him, however im not so fond of him anymore, more into the underground stuff now.
What do you think of the music industry at the moment? I think the music industry is sort of in a state of recovery, however it wont fully recover if people dont support the local and lets face it, more talented artists that are struggling to work into the industry.
Who inspires you when you make your music? nobody really inspires me, but what does is Failures, they always make me want to try harder and succeed, other things inspire me, but mainly failure.
If you were one of the Seven Dwarves, which one would you be? Sleepy, theres nothing better then a good sleep, probably the reason I haven't released anything in ages.
Who have you collaborated with so far in your Career? In no order, Loaded,Shadoh,Snow,Lumanes, The Deadlife,Del, Ruckiss,Arrogant,Tawksik,Apostolus,Young Trev,Quantity,Hittmann,Khaos,Source,Keviboii and Ill Az,Steve Et and more, thats just off the top of my head.
Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?   I dont know really, maybe somebody like werd, im not too choosy with collaborations, just mainly people who compliment my style.
What was the first album u bought?
First album is too embarrassing to reveal, lets just say it was a boy band, but hip hop album was Eminem's marshall mathers LP.

Whats your favorite song at the moment? Its not actually hip hop, but Hogni - Soul Company, something about it just appeals to me.
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your drawer? Probably Bob Marley's greatest hits.
What do you think of TV music talent show competitions? Lot of scripted bullshit, and I hate it.
What do you do when your not making music? Anything that entertains me, that sounds abit weird but feck it.
How many hats do you own? 1, and its not a snapback.
Whats your favorite takeaway? Domino's Pizza
What's your favourite Swear word?
Cunt, definitely Cunt

How many followers do you have on twitter? 175 :(
How do you feel about Scottish Hip Hop at the moment? Its growing, and soon will be at its peak, especially with all the interest around it from youths.
Anything else you would like to add? Brain Dead II is going to rip this planet in half, watch it happen, or dont, if you dont fuck you. Ps. ITFD
